Álvaro Alberto is an unremarkable photographer. Still, he carries a camera everywhere he goes with the rather pretentious yet ambitious intent of outdoing himself one day. Originally from Chile, but now based in Belgium, he writes this biography in the third person to fool the readers into thinking he is cooler and more important than he actually is. However, now that the spell is broken, we can just drop it and use the first person. I am a tremendously passionate darkroom printer. So much so that I usually find myself daydreaming about becoming a Master Printer one day. Funnily enough, not so much immediately after seeing my actual prints.
My all-time favorite photographer is Sergio Larraín, whom I not only derive endless inspiration from but also deliberately and shamelessly aim to imitate. Interestingly, this goal might be considered spectacularly bold by some and miserably lame by others, but what I am ultimately after is the very unusual combination of decisive yet somewhat unresolved moments he collected throughout his photographs. That’s pretty much it.
I also sporadically write a blog which is primarily about photography. It does not really engage many people, but I quite like writing knowing nobody is reading, mainly because expectations are near zero that way, so please do not tell your friends. Finally, I genuinely try not to take myself too seriously, and although I do not always succeed, this silly little paragraph is meant to be proof of that.
